Kunst.Stück began with the 2014 harvest as Kellerei Kaltern’s way of celebrating one exceptional parcel each year, chosen when the cellar team felt nature had produced something genuinely extraordinary. This inaugural release was made entirely from Pinot Bianco and bottled only in magnum, underlining both its limited nature and its ability to age. Fermented spontaneously and matured for 12 months in large French oak barrels, it combines Alto Adige freshness with unusual depth and texture. Ripe apple, pear and preserved citrus sit alongside white flowers, almond, herbs and gentle toast, with mountain acidity giving shape to the broader, mature palate. The large format has encouraged slow development, allowing savoury and nutty notes to emerge while retaining energy. Distinctive, layered and beautifully individual, it’s a serious Pinot Bianco for richer fish, poultry or alpine cheeses.
