Ardbeg distillery was founded in 1815 on the Isle of Islay, Scotland. Facing financial challenges, Ardbeg changed hands multiple times, and by the late 20th century, it fell into disrepair. The distillery closed in 1981, leaving a gap in its storied legacy. However, in 1997, Glenmorangie Plc acquired Ardbeg and embarked on an ambitious restoration, revitalising the iconic Islay distillery.
Known for its peaty and robust whiskies, Ardbeg's notable releases include the Ardbeg 10 Year Old, Uigeadail, and Corryvreckan. These expressions have garnered acclaim for their distinctive flavours, showcasing the distillery's commitment to craftsmanship. Despite its troubled past, Ardbeg has risen from the ashes to become a revered name in the world of single malt Scotch whisky, captivating enthusiasts with its bold and complex offerings.
