This 55-year-old single malt whisky is exceptional not only for its advanced age but also for its unique finishing in ex-Amoroso sherry casks. The Amoroso cask maturation imparts a rich and complex character to the whisky, adding layers of great complexity that perfectly complement the whisky’s natural Speyside elegance. This whisky was originally distilled at Tomintoul Distillery, located in the heart of Scotland’s Speyside region. The whisky is made using 100% malted barley and distilled twice in copper pot stills. Partial maturation in ex-bourbon casks, before being transferred to ex-Amoroso sherry casks for finishing. Amoroso is a unique type of sweetened Oloroso sherry, which adds rich, complex flavors of dried fruit, caramelised nuts, and exotic spices to the whisky.
