Les Rouges is a high-lying Premier Cru above the Grands Crus of Flagey-Échezeaux, where the cooler position and stony soils tend to give a poised, mineral expression of Vosne. The 2013 vintage was shaped by a cool growing season and low yields, bringing freshness and aromatic detail rather than overt weight. Red cherry, cranberry and wild strawberry sit alongside violet, Asian spice, forest floor and subtle oak, with fine tannins carrying a long, savoury finish. Presented in magnum, the wine has developed slowly and should retain an impressive sense of energy. Elegant, complex and quietly serious, it's a refined Burgundy for duck, pigeon or truffle dishes.
