Specialist Valuations for Exceptional Bottles
Have a bottle or collection you’re considering selling? At Hackstons, we bring specialist knowledge, market insight and a considered approach to buying rare and collectible bottles. Tell us what you have, and our team will assess your bottles and help you understand their value and the options available to you.
We focus on bottles where our expertise can make a real difference, taking the time to assess their rarity, provenance and condition before determining whether they’re right for us.
From sought-after single malts to bottles no longer in production, rarity and collector demand can make certain expressions particularly desirable.
Documented history and a clear understanding of a bottle’s origins help us verify its authenticity and establish its place in the market.
Condition matters. We look for bottles that have been well cared for, paying close attention to factors such as fill levels, seals, labels and packaging.
Every bottle is assessed individually, combining specialist knowledge with current market data, historical pricing and condition checks to establish a considered valuation. This helps us make a fair, informed offer that reflects the bottle’s appeal and market position, while taking into account the costs involved in buying and reselling it.
Limited releases, discontinued expressions and bottles produced in small quantities can carry particular appeal among collectors.
A bottle’s history, authenticity and supporting documentation help inform our assessment and its potential appeal to buyers.
We carefully assess the bottle’s physical condition, including its seal, fill level, label and original packaging, where applicable.
We consider current retail prices, historical sales data and wider market trends to understand a bottle’s market value. These insights help inform our offer, which reflects the price we can reasonably pay as a retailer rather than the price you might expect to pay at retail.

A note on valuations and offers
Our assessments consider current market information, historical pricing, provenance and condition. However, the offer we make will likely differ from a bottle’s current retail price, RRP or estimated market value. As a retailer, we need to account for the costs and margins involved in purchasing, handling and reselling bottles. Any offer we make will reflect these considerations, and you’re under no obligation to accept it.
Optional: Independent Third-Party Valuation
If you’d like a formal valuation, we can introduce you to an independent valuer. Any cost is payable by you, the seller, and Hackstons is not liable for the valuation provided.
From the initial assessment to the final arrangements, we aim to make the process clear, straightforward and transparent at every stage.
Our team reviews the details you provide and assesses your bottles, considering their condition, provenance, rarity and market value. A full assessment and report typically takes 3–5 business days.
We’ll share our findings in a clear, easy-to-understand format, outlining our assessment and the offer we can make. Our offer takes into account the bottle’s market value, condition and resale potential, alongside the costs of purchasing and reselling it. You’ll have the opportunity to ask questions and consider your options before deciding whether to proceed.
Once you’re happy to proceed, we’ll agree the next steps and arrange collection or drop-off of your bottles and payment, making the process as straightforward as possible.
