Marcarini’s Barolo Brunate comes from one of the Langhe’s most historic and celebrated vineyard sites, stretching across the communes of La Morra and Barolo. The family has bottled the Brunate name since 1958 and remains firmly traditional in approach, with long skin contact followed by at least two years in medium-sized oak casks. The 2015 vintage brought warmth and ripeness, giving the wine a generous core while Brunate’s calcareous, magnesium-rich soils provide structure and savoury depth. Expect dark cherry and red berry fruit alongside rose, balsamic herbs, sweet spice, tobacco, mountain hay and undergrowth. The tannins are firm but increasingly settled, and the finish has the length and quiet power for which this cru is known. Noble, layered and built to evolve, it’s a classic Barolo for roast meats, game or truffle dishes.
