A truly remarkable piece of Lowland history, this 48 Year Old grain spirit hails from the now-lost North of Scotland distillery. Distilled in 1973 and bottled in 2021 at just 25% ABV, it technically sits below the whisky threshold, a quirky footnote that only adds to its intrigue. Crafted under the watchful eye of George P. Christie, it retains a surprising depth and character despite the low strength, making it an extraordinary collector’s piece and a nostalgic window into a short-lived chapter of Scotch whisky.
Nose - Gentle buttered corn, warm ginger, soft caramel, and a whisper of honeyed cereal.
Palate - Smooth and delicate, with custard, lemon zest, candy sweetness, and subtle nutty undertones.
Finish - Light, nostalgic, with hints of apple, popcorn, and lingering gentle malt.
