Step aside, England. There’s a new gin on the radar, and it’s come all the way from Nairobi. Make room on your shelf for Procera Blue Dot Gin. A Kenyan gin with altitude, attitude and (we’re not exaggerating) the world’s freshest juniper berries, this gin is far from ordinary.
Procera Blue Dot is a statement. A statement of flavour, craft, and origin worth showing off whenever you feel the need to. Think you’ve tasted every single gin in the world? Think again, mate. This African gem has been eloquently kissed by the sun, and (we kid you not) bottled at 1,800 metres above sea level.
So, let’s take a closer look at why this clear spirit deserves a spot in our Liquid Legacies lineup, shall we?
Let’s dive in.
Gin, but make it Kenyan. Distilled in Nairobi, Blue Dot is the first (and only) gin of its kind. That alone is worth celebrating. For a sentimental fact, it’s named after the Juniperus Procera tree, which happens to be a species that only grows in equatorial Africa, by the way.
Moving on to the Blue Dot, their flagship expression. It’s built quite the reputation for its bright, aromatic style and top-shelf complexity (and quality). So simply put, we really meant it when we said this is not your average gin. This unique masterpiece brings botanical depth, spice and compelling storytelling to the table, and we’re hooked.
Reading this heading alone begs the question, “How is this even possible?”, doesn’t it? Well, we’re here to fill you in on the all-important details. As you now know, the gin is distilled at 1,800 metres above sea level, enhancing clarity of the spirit, the gentleness of its distillation quality and its captivating aroma, without environmental factors like pollution and the hot African heat tarnishing its freshness. The result? A gin like no other.
The stills are made of custom-built copper that helps retain the full flavour of the delicate botanicals. This removes any unwanted chemical compounds and questionable scents, builds botanical character and depth, and controls temperature levels. In short, it acts as both a filter and flavour enhancer.
Another thing worth adding: every single one of their bottles is handcrafted from start to finish, meaning no shortcuts.
Overall? Unlike mass-produced gins, Procera is big on small-batch quality, high flavour and absolutely zero compromises.
Talk about high hopes (pun intended).
You may or may not know already that most gins heavily rely on dried juniper berries. Why? Because they’re easy to transport and store. The downside? They lack complexity. This is exactly why the fresh juniper in Procera’s gin hits so differently.
They use fresh, hand-harvested African juniper to deliver vibrant oils and aromas. Sourced from the Kenyan Highlands once a year by local craft specialists, the quality of the berries is nothing short of the best. This way, the gin tastes much cleaner, deeper, and simply more… alive.
Let’s touch on what’s actually inside the bottle. Truly one of a kind, this recipe is made from a selection of unique, terroir-driven African botanicals. And honestly? It’s too hard to pass up.
What makes African juniper so special is its fresh, resinous and aromatic characteristics — totally unique to East Africa. In other words, think of it as an African delicacy, of sorts.
The Swahili lime is bright, zesty and less acidic than your average citrus fruit. Combined with the berries, it’s a match made in heaven.
Bringing in a touch of zen to your bottle is the Somali myrrh. Think warmth, earthy aromas and an incense-like richness that’ll have you singing Kumbaya with every sip. Mix in some seaweed from the Kenyan coast and you’ve got the added bonus of subtle salinity and minerality. Finished with wild honey bush for floral sweetness and a hint of soft, herbal notes, this all brings a striking blend of balance and a touch of adventure; taking you on a real gin journey from glass to palate.
Petrichor. What’s that you say? It’s that unique smell of your Spring garden after an April shower. It’s bright and green, but grounded thanks to the spice and depth. You’ll find it opens with fresh pine, herbs and a dash of lemongrass. Light notes of white pepper, coriander seed and orange peel peek through, inviting you in. So, all in all, you could say that it smells more like a forest walk than a spirit.
Two words: tipple, anyone?
Blue Dot is part of a movement. It’s an ethical spirit of champions which, well… champions terroir, sustainability and local craftsmanship. So, if you were to grab a bottle (hint, hint), you’d be supporting fair trade, local economies and eco-friendly production.
It goes to show that gin can be just as complex, prestigious and collectible as any other spirit.

We’re not surprised that it’s making waves across the globe. It’s a gin that beautifully captures the essence of Nairobi, sealed inside a hand-blown bottle that deserves an award in itself — brought to you by the Kitengela Glass team, just 17 miles from the distillery.
Thanks to its reliance on seasonal botanicals and fresh berries, the production is very limited (and highly covetable). So, if you happen to find a bottle, it’s best to act fast.
Point blank: Procera Blue Dot is truly a rare find worth savouring. It’s elegant, ethical and undeniably extraordinary. It’s an African gin that bears the soul of a handmade Nairobi product, the complexity of a fine, luxurious spirit and, most importantly (for gin lovers), the type of boldness that breaks barriers and dares to stand out from the crowd.
Think you’ve tried it all? Well, this one’s a genuine game-changer, and we’re here for it. Whether you need a bottle for your home collection, or for gifting something (very) special to someone you love, consider us your go-to location for finding a gin like no other.
A true Liquid Legacy, and a modern classic in the making. Buy your bottle online or visit our Knightsbridge retail store to get your hands on one.
Cheers to that!
