Suntory Imperial is a rare piece of Japanese whisky history, presented in an elaborate decanter made by Kagami Crystal, one of Japan’s most celebrated glassmakers. Created as a prestige blended whisky, it reflects an earlier era of Suntory production, when richly matured malt and grain whiskies were brought together in a style designed as much for ceremony and gifting as everyday drinking. The sculpted crystal presentation gives the bottle immediate presence, though the whisky inside carries its own mature, old-fashioned character. Expect toffee, dried fruit and gentle sherry sweetness alongside cedar, sandalwood, roasted nuts and peppery spice, with polished oak running through the palate. Mellow yet distinctive, it offers a fascinating contrast to the brighter style of many modern Japanese blends.
