How to personalise a whisky or wine gift this Christmas

Imagine receiving a favourite bottle of Louis Roederer Cristal Champagne – a fantastic gift in itself – but a bottle that has been hand-painted with beautiful floral motifs, bespoke illustrations or heartfelt messages transforms it into a personalised work of art. The ‘safe’ gift becomes a unique piece, something that can be kept, cherished and displayed for far longer than the time it takes to drink the contents! 

Personalising a bottle of whisky, wine or Champagne is therefore the obvious choice for big birthdays, milestone celebrations, Christmas presents or corporate gifts. From engraving to handpainting, here’s how to give your bottles the personal touch…

In-store personalisation services

At Hackstons, we offer in-store bottle engraving and hand-painting. We work with London-based artist, Chanda Patel from Chanda Arts, whose beautiful designs transform luxury objects into one-of-a-kind gifts. Working from our Knightsbridge boutique, Chanda can create unique designs for special presents or corporate gifts – from company logos and heartfelt messages to hand-drawn illustrations – you can send us a brief or let the artist paint something completely unique. 

Personalised whisky engraving

Chanda can etch the most detailed designs onto glass using a sophisticated micro-drill. This is the ideal way to personalise special occasion whisky gifts or to add a personal touch to a favourite spirit. The permanence of an engraved whisky bottle gift means it will also earn pride of place, even when the contents have long since disappeared.

Please note, engraving is not available on sparkling wines and Champagnes.

Hand-painted wine bottle gifts

Stunning on the outside as well as the inside, a hand-painted wine bottle captures a moment in time beautifully. Artistic floral designs edged in gold paint or a personal illustration are hand-painted to create a striking talking point, making this a thoughtful addition for a host, friend or family member. 

Personalised Champagne bottle gifts

There’s nothing quite like Champagne to mark a special occasion, and with a hand-painted bottle, the celebrations never need to fade from memory. Hand-painting embellishes what’s on the inside – floral swirls, drapes of vine leaves, pops of colour – carefully designed to draw the eye and leave a lasting impression. 

Please note, engraving is not available on sparkling wines and Champagnes.

Personalised corporate Christmas gifting

Choosing a corporate gift that sends out the right message can be a challenge. We understand that, which is why we produced our Corporate Gift Guide 2026 – which you can also read about in our blog.

But, it’s also why we launched our bottle personalisation service  – so you can add your own message to each of your clients. At Hackstons, we can personalise each of your corporate gifts individually, adding different messages or designs to each bottle. Just email our corporate gift expert, Blake, with a list of recipients and he will source the right bottle for your clients, and then make sure the right personalisation is actioned for each gift. We can even package and deliver the bottles for you.

Booking ahead for Christmas

To accommodate requests, Chanda needs advance notice if you would like your bottle personalised. For in-store personalisation, slots open a month in advance – simply book your time online.

If you are buying your gift online, add the personalisation option at checkout – but leave plenty of time to ensure there is enough time before your delivery date – the sooner you order, the better! 

Each bottle is £10 to personalise.
