Highland Park Between You and I x Laila Gohar is a 17 Year Old single malt created with the New York-based artist and creative director, whose work brings food, design and performance together in unexpected ways. Master Whisky Maker Marc Watson sampled more than 80 casks before selecting a whisky inspired by Gohar’s Egyptian heritage and the memories prompted by flavour. After 11 years in refill casks, it spent its final six years in highly active new American oak, bringing brighter spice and sweetness to Highland Park’s aromatic Orkney peat. Orange blossom, citrus and creamy vanilla sit alongside warming spice, leather and a gentle thread of heather smoke. Bottled at 47.5% ABV, it feels expressive and vibrant without losing the distillery’s characteristic balance of sweetness and subtle peat. The colourful, surreal packaging was co-created with Gohar from the imagined scenes the whisky brought to mind. Best enjoyed neat or with a few drops of water.
