Father’s Day spirits – the best bottles for gifting

Father’s Day spirits – the best bottles for gifting

The best Father’s Day gift is not always about buying the most expensive bottle on the shelf. It’s about choosing something that says you paid attention – that you put some extra thought into the gift rather than reaching for his usual whisky or wine.

With that in mind, our Knightsbridge specialists have put together a selection of some of our finest alternative spirits and liqueurs – from tequila and cognac to sake and rum – made by artisanal producers and presented in bottles that earn their place at the table – both aesthetically and in the glass.

Here are their recommendations for the best spirits for Father’s Day gifts in 2026…

The best spirit gifts for Father’s Day 2026

1. Clase Azul Reposado Tequila

Tequila is having a moment in 2026, and this stunning bottle is as good as it gets. The handcrafted ceramic decanter is a piece of artwork in itself – white with cobalt blue brushwork, each bottle is hand-painted by Mexican artisans, which means no two are identical.

As for what’s inside – it takes tequila to another level. Literally translated as ‘resting’, reposado refers to an agave spirit that has been aged in oak barrels for a minimum of two months and up to one year. The time spent in oak softens the harshness of the agave and adds sweeter, warmer notes like vanilla, caramel, and mild spice.

If you’re looking for a bottle that looks good on the shelf long after the contents have been emptied, Clase Azul Reposado is it.

Price: £170.00

2. Tesseron Signature Trésor Grande Champagne Cognac

For the father who knows what good Cognac is, Tesseron’s Signature Trésor is a special find.

Tesseron is one of the oldest cognac houses still operating independently in France – a name that carries weight among serious collectors, even if it has never chased the volume of the bigger houses. The Trésor is drawn exclusively from Grande Champagne, the premier cru of the Cognac region, and aged in a way that prioritises concentration over approachability.

Having been aged for decades, the result is a multi-layered sensation of the tastebuds – expect dried apricot, walnut, and old leather and a whole spice rack of flavours. Definitely one for sipping slowly and savouring the moment. Read more about the Liquid Legacy that is Tesseron in our blog.

Price: £700.00

3. Rémy Martin Louis XIII, 1970s bottling

Rémy Martin Louis XIII needs little introduction – but a 1970s bottling is a different proposition entirely.

What is in the decanter is the result of up to a hundred years of patient ageing – a carefully crafted blend of up to 1,200 eaux-de-vie from Grande Champagne, assembled and held across generations of cellar masters. A 1970s bottling adds a further layer of rarity – the liquid is older than most of the people who will receive it as a gift!

When it comes to presentation, Rémy Martin does not let you down – this precious liquid is presented in the iconic Baccarat crystal decanter that has defined Louis XIII for over a century, and even comes in its own gift presentation box.

Price: £3,400

4. Four Roses Small Batch Barrel Strength Limited Edition 2024

This barrel strength bourbon is aged between for up to 20 years, resulting in a hefty 54.1% ABV, but with a depth and complexity that belies its price.

Despite its strength, the bourbon is refined and restrained, carrying layers of sweetness and spice into a long, lingering finish. Creamy vanilla, honey and brown sugar give way to tangy citrus and herbal notes, finishing with the Four Roses signature mellow spice – the result is a spirit that is proud, powerful yet exquisitely composed.

The label is clean, the bottle is confident – it sits well on any bar and drinks even better.

Price: £195.00

5. Brugal Maestro Reserva Rum

Rum rarely gets the serious treatment it deserves – Brugal Maestro Reserva is a case for changing that.

Produced in the Dominican Republic by the Brugal family – whose distilling heritage stretches back to 1888 – this is a spirit for people who appreciate a rum that is as complex and distinctive as a good whisky or cognac.

It is aged in American white oak sherry casks which undergo a unique process of toasting, a technique used to bring flame-roasted flavours to the end result. For a gift that is just that little bit different, Brugal Maestro Rum Reserve more than holds its own alongside the usual single malts and aged cognacs.

Price: £149.00

6. Madre Ensamble Mezcal Artesanal

Like tequila, Mezcal is made from the heart of the agave plant, but unlike tequila (which can only be made from Blue Weber agave), Mezcal can contain spirit from a variety of agaves.

An ‘ensamble’ is made by roasting, crushing, fermenting and distilling two or more agave varieties in a single batch, creating a unique flavour profile. Production of this Madre Ensamble Mezcal is small-batch and artisanal in the truest sense, the product of knowledge and expertise handed down through the generations.

The result is a mezcal with real character – mineral, floral, and gently smoky, and  a depth that rewards slow drinking – this is not the spirit for shots or slammers!

Price: £73.50

7. Akashi-Tai Honjozo Tokubetsu Sake

Not every Father’s Day gift needs to be defined by price. At under £30, this smooth sake is the most interesting bottle on this list for the father who thinks he has tried everything.

Produced by the Akashi Sake Brewery in Hyogo prefecture – one of Japan’s most esteemed sake-producing regions – this Honjozo Tokubetsu is full of umami flavour that complements a range of foods and occasions.

Serve chilled in a wine glass, or gently heated in winter in a sake set, this delightful drink can be enjoyed as an aperitif to whet the appetite or as a satisfying end point to a meal.

Price: £26.00

8. Moutai Banquet Red

While it may be still relatively unknown in the UK, baijiu is China’s national drink and the most consumed distilled spirit in the world.

Made from fermented grains like sorghum, rice, wheat, and corn, baiju is categorised into four aroma profiles: strong; sauce; light; rice.

Moutai is a premium, high-proof baijiu that falls into the ‘sauce’ aroma category, meaning it has a distinctively savoury, umami flavour profile. Distilled from organic red sorghum, you’ll find notes of soy sauce, fermented grains and roasted nuts.

For the father who has an eye for the unusual – and who appreciates a striking bottle with genuine cultural significance – this is the right gift.

Price: £196.00

9. Madre Blanco Tequila 20cl

This handmade tequila is produced by five families in Mexico using knowledge and expertise that has come down through the generations. That means it is an old-school tequila – small batch, slow-produced, 100% additive-free agave spirit, made with the deepest respect to the land.

Not so long ago, this artisanal tequila was available primarily in plastic bottles at the side of the road – today, the spirit has been upgraded to these lovely clip-top flasks – a delightful gift for the father who appreciates heritage and history over mass-production.

Price: £28.00

How to choose a bottle for Father’s Day

A few questions worth asking to help make your decision easier:

Does he already collect? If so, reach beyond the obvious labels. Tesseron Trésor, Four Roses Limited Edition, and Louis XIII are the choices that signal you went to a specialist, not a supermarket.

Is he a whisky drinker looking for something new? Brugal Maestro Reserva and Madre Ensamble are the most natural next steps – complex, aged, and made with genuine craft.

Does he appreciate the object as much as the liquid? Clase Azul and Moutai Banquet Red both come in bottles that earn a place on the shelf long after the contents are finished.

Is this the first serious bottle you are buying him? Madre Blanco Tequila offers the quality without the commitment – and the Akashi-Tai sake is a great choice for nervous gifters.
