Note: this product will be shipped within 10 days. The Balvenie 60 Year Old 1962 is the oldest and rarest whisky the Speyside distillery has released, created to mark Malt Master David C. Stewart’s extraordinary six decades with the house. Distilled in June 1962, the same year Stewart began his career, it spent 60 years in a single European oak hogshead before just 71 bottles were drawn. The long maturation has given the whisky remarkable depth, though the distillery’s familiar honeyed character still runs beneath the oak. Expect rich toffee, vintage marmalade and roasted coffee alongside vanilla, citrus, worn leather, spice and a beautifully layered rancio note. The presentation is equally considered, with glass, gold and brass elements representing the six decades of Stewart’s work. Profoundly rare, mature and historic, it’s as much a tribute to one man’s influence on Scotch whisky as it is an exceptional single malt.
