Announcing the Release of The Bottling Club: A New Chapter in Hackstons Whisky

We’re beyond excited to introduce something truly special—the launch of Hackstons’ first-ever independent bottling range: The Bottling Club. A passion project years in the making, this collection represents the heart of what we do: bringing exceptional, rare whisky to collectors and connoisseurs alike. And with only a handful of bottles available, this isn’t just whisky—for us, it’s whisky history.

The story behind The Bottling Club

The Bottling Club was conceived by Hackstons Co-Founder, Alphie Valentine, as a way to celebrate the art of independent bottling while paying tribute to the maturation process that makes each cask unique.

“The Bottling Club is about more than just whisky—it’s about celebrating rare and exceptional drams while making each bottle a piece of art in its own right. That’s why we collaborated with the incredible Ernie Button, ensuring every release is as unique on the outside as it is inside the bottle. With such limited runs, you have the opportunity to own something truly rare, and with this being the very first release of The Bottling Club, I have no doubt that these bottles will become highly coveted in the years to come.”Alphie Valentine, Hackstons Co-Founder

To make each bottle an artistic statement, we partnered with Arizona-based photographer and whisky enthusiast Ernie Button, known for his celestial imagery and collaborations with The Macallan. His designs transform these bottles into collectible pieces—every label as distinct as the spirit it contains.

Now, let’s take a closer look at the collection.

The Bottling Club collection

Each whisky in this inaugural release comes from a carefully selected cask, finished to perfection. These ultra-limited bottlings encapsulate the essence of their respective distilleries, offering a glimpse into their history and signature style.

The Bottling Club 10 Year Old Sherry Firkin Single Malt Whisky

£79 (only 61 bottles available)

About Teaninich Distillery

Founded in 1817, Teaninich Distillery is one of Scotland’s hidden gems. Unlike most distilleries, Teaninich uses a mash filter instead of a traditional mash tun, which results in an exceptionally clear wort. Though much of its production fuels blends, single malts from Teaninich are revered for their complexity and depth.

Tasting notes

Nose: Wood polish, raisins, leather, dried figs, prunes, toffee barley, fine almond powder, peanut brittle.

Palate: Prunes, sultanas, almond croissant, salted peanuts, thick and coating mouthfeel but with no burn.

Finish: Continued toffee, nuts and dried stone fruit character with a generous and persistent finish.

The Bottling Club, Dailuaine 10 Year Old, Moscatel Octave

The Bottling Club, Dailuaine 10 Year Old, Moscatel Octave

£85 (only 39 bottles available)

About Dailuaine Distillery

Dailuaine Distillery, founded in 1852, is renowned for its robust and meaty spirit—largely due to its unique condensers, which encourage a heavier, richer mouthfeel. Traditionally a key component of Johnnie Walker blends, Dailuaine’s single malts are less common but highly sought after for their full-bodied, sherried character.

Tasting notes

Nose: Raisin fudge, brandy flambéed pudding, slight smoky mezcal, dried peach, cinnamon toast, clove, smoked ham, salted dark chocolate.

Palate: Tannic grippy mouthfeel, with dark cherry, Brazil nuts, burnt toffee, cigar box, dry figs, cacao nibs, tobacco, leather.

Finish: Torched oak, ginger and tobacco are more dominant on this dry, long and intriguing finish.

The Bottling Club, Auchroisk 15 Year Old, Red Wine Firkin

£135 (only 64 bottles available)

About Auchroisk Distillery

One of the younger distilleries in Scotland, Auchroisk was established in 1974 with a vision of producing a lighter, fruitier whisky. Auchroisk has gained a cult following among single malt enthusiasts and its whisky is revered for its approachability and nuanced flavour.

Tasting notes

Nose: Dried and fresh apricots, wood varnish, heather, lemon curd, dried cherries, cedar, molasses, butter pastries.

Palate: Millionaire shortbread, dried apricots, fruity coffee, salted caramel tart, blackcurrants, medium to full on the palate.

Finish: Long finish, with lingering baking spices, waxy stone fruit and shortbread biscuits.

Bottles for the true collector

With each bottle in The Bottling Club being a one-of-a-kind piece, this launch is as much about collectability as it is about taste. These are not just limited editions; they are moments in whisky history, bottled for those who appreciate rarity and craftsmanship.

Once they’re gone, they’re gone.
