Roserock Chardonnay comes from the Drouhin family’s estate at the southern end of Oregon’s Eola-Amity Hills, where ancient volcanic soils and the cooling influence of the Van Duzer Corridor create ideal conditions for Chardonnay. The fruit is handpicked from the estate’s three Chardonnay blocks, pressed immediately and divided equally between stainless steel and barrel for fermentation. After full malolactic fermentation, Véronique Drouhin brings the two portions together, balancing freshness with gentle texture. The 2023 opens with crisp green apple, honeysuckle, gardenia and lemon zest, followed by citrus, ginger and a subtle note of nutty cream. Precise acidity and stony minerality keep the palate bright beneath its generous, rounded shape. Bottled at 14.1% ABV, it is polished, energetic and built to develop over the next several years. Serve at 11–13°C with shellfish, grilled fish, roast chicken or creamy sauces.
